Professor Green has vowed to change the way he uses Twitter because he is fed up of wasting so much of his time on his phone.

The 30-year-old rapper, who has more than two million followers on the social networking site, has deleted every one of his 47,500 tweets except for one which is simply a '?'.

Writing a piece for The Independent, he explained that while he believes Twitter is useful if used correctly, he has grown tired of constantly checking his phone and writing pointless tweets while reading messages from people he follows who 'clutter up' his timeline.

He said: 'I'm tired of the digital diarrhoea that has spewed forth from my fingers in the 140 format … I've decided to erase my timeline and start over.'

Pro Green has worked out that he has tweeted an average of 27.47 times per day since he first started his Twitter account, which now features a black box in place of the picture of himself, in January 2009 and he is planning to go to an art gallery or meet a friend for coffee to fill his time.

The star – who has had several spats with fellow celebrities since his time on Twitter – insists he doesn't regret anything he's shared on the social networking site but believes it's time for him to change his ways and set an example for his future relatives.

He wrote: 'When I'm 80 years old sucking soup through a straw and my great grandkids are scrolling through my timeline, do I want them knowing I told two million people that I took a s**t at 4pm on a Thursday? Not really.'

One thing perhaps he didn't want his great grandchildren to read about was his Twitter spat with Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, which occurred in April last year.

After Spencer had called Pro's wife Millie a 'show pony' in a recent interview, the rapper took to the site to vent his fury at the reality TV lothario.

In a number of expletive-ridden messages, he dubbed Spencer 'vile' and asked him to stay out of his relationship.

Pro, who was engaged to Millie at the time, wrote: 'And as for @spencergeorgem - you're vile, don't utter a f**king word about our engagement - it's none of your f**king business (sic)'

While the rapper is going through somewhat of a Twitter resurgence, Millie - who shot to fame on reality TV show Made In Chelsea – is showing no signs of slowing down or changing her Twitter outage as she took to the social networking site to post the latest picture of herself in a black bikini.

In a message attached to the image, she wrote: 'Snap shot from the behind the scenes video of my @nipandfab shoot (sic)'
