A palace official has reportedly denied a rumour suggesting that the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is being "tormented" by Her Majesty the Queen over her alleged spending habits.
According to Life & Style, Kate has felt the wrath of Elizabeth II's tongue over renovations to the 10-bedroom Anmer Hall property in Norfolk.
"The queen is famously careful about not being flashy," a source told the mag, referencing the multi-million overhaul the Duchess has reportedly ordered on landscaping, new roof tiles and a sitting room.

"She's shocked about Kate's overspending. She thinks it doesn't make Kate or the royals look good to be splashing out millions on redecoration," the insider added.
A royal expert added that Kate is "going against" the Queen by moving herself, Prince William and their son Prince George out to Norfolk instead of remaining in London.

However, speaking to Gossip Cop, the Palace has said there is "no truth" to any rumours of conflict.
Kate and William were both spotted at Wimbledon today to watch Andy Murray defend his title in the Quarter Finals. Sadly they were left disappointed when the Scottish tennis ace was knocked out.
