George Clooney And Amal Alamuddin Arrive In Venice For Hollywood Wedding
Sep 26th 2014, 14:08

We never thought we'd see the day when George Clooney got married, but believe it baby, because the notorious bachelor is tying the knot on Monday in Venice to British lawyer Amal Alamuddin. She might be a high flying legal mind, but the British beauty has got the looks of a Hollywood screen siren and was glowing as she jetted along the Grand Canal today in the Italian city, as the couple geared up to start three days of celebrations.

Joined by Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, the couple looked very relaxed despite the exciting few days ahead - no pre-wedding jitters then? The stars have already started descending on the Italian city, with Matt Damon one of the first A-listers to arrive. Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Sandra Bullock are also expected to mark the occasion.

Things kick off tonight with bachelor and bachelorette style meals in separate hotels. George will be at the Hotel Cipriani, on the island of Giudecca where around 100 guests are expected at the Oro Restaurant, while Amal dines with her family at the Hotel Aman, overlooking the Grand Canal.

The seven star hotel will also host a dinner tomorrow night in honour of the couple. it's rumoured the couple may have a ceremony away from Venice, before returning to the city on Saturday evening for a grand reception. According to the Telegraph a woman in a bridal style dress was seen rehearsing the arrival of the couple earlier this year, perhaps ensuring that things run smoothly this weekend.

The official marriage ceremony will take place at the 16th century Cavalli Palace. The city council issued a notice yesterday to warn that several walkways around that area of the Grand Canal, would be shut on Monday, to avoid crowds gathering.

While they're getting married in the centre of a city, the couple have taken many steps to ensure the privacy of the ceremony, with mobile phones and tablets said to be banned from the celebrations, to avoid any non-official photographs leaking out.

We will get to see some of the happy day though, George has apparently struck a deal with US Vogue to cover the official photographs, in exchange for a charitable donation.

The question on everyone's lips though - will Brad Pitt be bestman?
