Drake has been unveiled as a huge frontrunner for this year's BET Hip Hop Awards with the Canadian rapper leading the pack with an incredible eight nominations with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Jay Z and Nicki Minaj following closely behind.
This year's awards ceremony will be hosted by Snoop Dogg at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on September 20 and is expected to see Drake grace the stage several times after the rapper scored an impressive fleet of nominations. Following on from last year which saw him walk away with four awards including the People's Champ and Best Hip Hop Video for 'Started From The Bottom.' Most of the rapper's nominations will most likely stem from his latest chart-topping album 'Nothing Was The Same' which features the hit track 'Hold On We're Going Home,' 'Pound Cake,' 'Worst Behavior' and 'O To 100.'
It's also possible that the 28-year-old will also received nods for his collaborations with mentor and touring partner Lil Wayne and his Young Money crew. Hip hop mogul Jay Z has also received a high number of nominations with six, most likely thanks to his latest album 'Magna Carta Holy Grail,' tying with 'Happy' hitmaker Pharrell Williams and super producer Future who released his second solo album 'Honest' this year.

Not too far behind is 'Pills N Potions' rapper Nicki Minaj with five nods, coinciding with her return to the charts this year and a brand new album 'The Pinkprint', which is yet to be released but, will feature the hugely popular single 'Anaconda.' Also receiving five nominations is Rich Homie Quan and YG.
The 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards will be hosted by Snoop Dogg who is also slated to perform, following on from last year which saw the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Diddy, French Montana, Rick Ross and Future entertain from the stage. The ceremony will be taking place on September 20 but will air on BET on October 14.
