He's playing both of the notorious Kray twins in his new film, Legend.
And Tom Hardy cut a sinister figure in blood-spattered clothes while filming scenes for the biopic about the notorious gangster brothers on Sunday in Borough, London.
The British star, in character as Reggie Kray, was seen punching actor Paul Anderson - who plays gang member Albert Donoghue - during a particular violent confrontation.

The scene occurs just after the pair leave the flat of 'blonde Carol', a barmaid at The Blind Beggar.
After the violent confrontation, a dazed Tom was seen walking the streets alone with his hands in his suit pockets.
Wearing his hair slicked back with a wispy fringe hanging across his forehead, the 36-year-old actor's otherwise dapper look was marred by red blood stains smeared accross his face and all down his white shirt.

Tom has reportedly been training with Freddie Roach, the former coach of world champion boxer
Manny Pacquiao, to prepare for his challenging roles as Ronnie and Reggie, who boxed as amateurs.
According to The Sun, the coach believes Tom has a serious talent for the sport and 'could step in the ring for real'.
The movie, which also stars David Thewlis and Christopher Eccleston, generated a buzz at Cannes, with potential buyers claiming it was 'one of the best scripts' they'd come across.

From a screenplay penned by LA Confidential writer Brian Helgeland, the story will focus on the Kray twins' wheelings and illegal dealings during the fifties and sixties.
As heads of the notorious criminal gang The Firm, the Krays were behind numerous armed robberies, murders, arson attacks and protection rackets up until their arrest on May 9, 1968.
Their story was previously told on film in the 1990s, with real life brothers Martin and Gary Kemp playing the titular roles.
Confirming the news of his latest roles in April, Tom said: 'I'm on that right now. I've got to work out how to play both twins, which will be fun. It's another experiment and I'm really looking forward to it.
'I'm not going to put too much pressure on myself, I just want to have some fun.
'The more of a challenge I give myself, the easier it is to take on more projects which are complicated in the future.'
