Sunday evening's MTV Video Music Awards may well have been dominated by Beyonce and her rousing, near twenty minute closing set – but one of its numerous after-parties was all two other show-stopping performers.
Attending the Republic Records official MTV post-event celebration at Project LA in Los Angeles, Nicki Minaj and Jessie J were on form shortly after taking to the stage for individual performances at the annual awards show.
Nicki, 31, opted for a smart leather dress that, by her own eccentric standards, was comparatively low-key as she made her way into the soiree late on Sunday evening.

The New York raised rapper teamed it with a pair of on-trend ankle boots that matched her jet black hair, while pink – her trademark colour – was evident courtesy of her vibrant shade of lipstick.
While Nicki stood out, so too did British singer Jessie by arriving in a smart LBD with a striking horizontal slash detail.
The dress ensured her slender frame was on full display as she made her way inside – where she rubbed shoulders with fellow guests Marlon Wayans, DJ Caroline D'Amore and a very dapper Nick Jonas.

The 26-year-old teamed her outfit with a pair of strappy black heels, while her hair remained centre parted and pulled into a conventional ponytail.
Jessie's smart move ensured her bold, cross shaped earrings stood out amongst an array of gold accessories.
Earlier that evening Jessie arrived at the VMA's wearing a flowing, pale green Grecian gown, which caught the eye of onlookers thanks to its plunging neckline.

Her wardrobe wasn't the singer's only showstopping moment of the night - she wowed the star-studded crowd with a powerful collaboration with US pop star Ariana Grande and rapper Nicki Minaj.
Grande kicked off their set with her hit Break Free, before Nicki made a headline-grabbing performance of her song Anaconda.
Wearing a green bra and shorts set, the star had painted her legs to resemble snakeskin, and writhed around with her backing dancers during her racy routine.

However, she ran the risk of exposing herself even further after joining Jessie and Ariana on-stage for their track Bang Bang.
The hip-hop queen had changed into a short black velvet dress, but seemed to struggle to pull up the front zipper - leaving her clinging on the fabric for dear life.
The embarrassed star managed to get through the performance without showing the crowd too much flesh.
After the set, Jessie took to Instagram to thank her superstar collaborators, writing: '#bangbang thank you - opening with you both was amazing!'
