Adam Levine puttered out on the Sunset Strip Wednesday night ... after his gas tank hit empty.
Adam's classic '50s Mercedes SL rolled to a stop near The Comedy Store. His new wife, Behati Prinsloo, waited helplessly while a frantic Adam waited for a friend to hit up a gas station for a can of fuel.
An eyewitness tells us Adam seemed upset when people started noticing him. He hightailed it out of there the second his friend gassed up the car.
He bought a Mercedes but it moves like a Jaguar.
