Robin Williams' Wife Releases Statement, Mourns "Beloved, Beautiful" Actor
Aug 12th 2014, 00:18, by Hilton Hater

With the world still in shock over the suicide of Robin Williams, the actor's wife has released a statement in mourning of the late Oscar winner.

"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken," said Susan Schneider, adding:

"On behalf of Robin's family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."

Williams shot to fame in the 1978 sitcom Mork & Mindy.

It ran for four seasons and he then made a very successful transition to the big screen, starring in such classics as Good Morning, Vietnam; Dead Poets Society; Mrs. Doubtfire; Hook; and Good Will Hunting.

He won an Oscar for the latter role.

The star made his return to television last year in The Crazy Ones, though it only lasted for one season on CBS.

Around noon today, authorities responded to a 911 call and found Williams' unresponsive body inside his home in California.
