Last night, the 2014 Video Music Awards featured some surprisingly touching moments and displays of social consciousness from the many stars that took the stage.
Miley Cyrus had a homeless man accept her award for video of the year. Common paid tribute to Michael Brown - the young man who was made national headlines when he was killed by a police officer.
And the Kardashian-Jenner sisters - couldn't have cared less.
At least that's the claim being made by critics who say that all three women should be ashamed of themselves for texting throughout Common's plea for a moment of silence.
It could simply be that MTV's cameras caught Kim and company at an inopportune time, but screen shots like the one above certainly seem to show the siblings looking very disinterested in the events on stage.
Which would be fine...if the events on stage didn't include a memorial to a slain teenager and a call for compassion in a town torn apart by rioting.
Common went on to present the award for Best Hip Hop Video. Hopefully Kim looked up from her phone at least momentarily when her husband's name was announced as one of the nominees.
Of course, she probably went right back to Candy Crushing when Kanye lost out to Drake.
