The Bachelor stars Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell were doomed from the start as a couple, at least according to the vast majority of Bachelor Nation.
It barely registered as a surprise, then, when rumors of their split surfaced this summer following reports of Juan Pablo getting his flirt on with another woman.
The celebrity gossip publications and readers alike have been proven wrong, however, as the two remain not only together, but happier than ever.
"We're doing great," Ferrell says. "We are very happy together."
"People are going to say what they want to say," Juan Pablo tells People. "I can't pay attention to any of that. I don't like to read what people write."
"They don't know us and what our relationship is all about."
Adds Nikki Ferrell, his final rose recipient last winter: "He does a better job of ignoring it than I do. I read what people say, and it does hurt my feelings."
"I'm only human. But really, we are happy and doing well."
The much-speculated-about couple recently spent the weekend together in the fittingly-named Celebration, Florida, to participate in Hearts of Reality.
Not reality TV, but an actually important reality. The event was for Give Kids the World, an organization that grants wishes to kids with life-threatening illnesses.
"I work with these types of children every day, so it's near and dear to my heart," says Nikki, a pediatric nurse. "I'm very fortunate to be in the position that I'm in.
"I don't take it for granted. I want to do anything I can to help."
"As a father, I know how important this charity is," says Galavis, who has a daughter, Camila, 5. "I'm really happy to help, and it's the right thing to do."
"This is what's important, what matters. Not everything else."
That's the most intelligent JPG has ever sounded.
