In the wake of Ramona Singer's divorce announcement, the father of one Real Housewives of New York City co-star is weighing in on its inevitability.
According to George Teichner, Aviva Drescher's dad and a newlywed himself, Ramona has taught him what precisely what NOT to do in a relationship.
"Reality TV marriages and spectacle marriages become a 'Dance of Dread,'" Teichner said, explaining his and Cody's decision to keep their wedding private.
"Why the incognito personal life? 'Those whom the Gods will destroy ... they first make proud! Just review all the married couples on all reality TV shows."
"You will discover a disproportionate amount of acrimony and mental suffering, along with addiction to alcohol, cocaine, and pharmaceutical brain tablets"
"I.e. [the] Kardashians, Ramona [Singer]."
Likening his co-star's issues to Keeping Up With the Kardashians? Kind of a low blow, but there is something to be said about keeping things private.
The family, like Ramona, has also seen multiple splits play out on the small screen, whether that had any impact on the relationships' demise or not.
"Our wedding was purely born from love! We do not live our lives for showbiz, rather for each other," said Teichner, 76, of his marriage to Dana Cody, 25.
"Notwithstanding ageism, racism, and cultural chasm. Unlike the latest fad, marrying for showbiz and its notoriety, narcissism, fortune and fawners."
"Cody and I married for eternal love… which is priceless."
Profound stuff right there. Aviva personally says she supports her father, and hasn't weighed in on Singer, though the two have clashed at times.
After Ramona's husband was caught cheating with Kasey Dexter a second time earlier this week, she tweeted a split announcement on Thursday:
"I have decided to move on with my life without Mario ... I tried my best to make my marriage work. I am excited for the new chapter in my life."
A chapter no doubt heavy on pinot grigio.
Dean McDermott cheated on Tori Spelling with Emily Goodhand. The couple then talked with a therapist about it for episode of True Tori.
