Ricky Gervais Mocks Jim Parsons' Emmy Awards Win With Hilarious Speech (WATCH)

Ricky Gervais may have lost out at this year's 66th Annual Emmy Awards, but he made sure to get the last laugh, once again, as he mocked The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons' win, when he appeared on stage to hand over the award for Best Writing for a Variety Special.

Ricky lost out on the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series award, with Parsons picking it up instead, but when The Office funnyman took to the stage to present an award, he used this as the perfect excuse to say his own speech.

Referencing the fact that he'd lost out a whopping 19 times out of 21, Gervais still managed to make a joke out of it, saying that he simply "wasn't funny enough" to walk out of the ceremony with the prestigious gong. "It's like a cruel joke," he told the celeb-filled crowd.

"Well done to Parsons, though," he jokingly added. "I would have preferred to have won it. Also, I've come a long way, he's probably local."

He then went on to read his speech that he'd prepared for the occasion. Check out the hilarious clip below:
