The former O.C star owes more than $100,000...
Nine years ago, Mischa Barton's career was at an all-time high. The actress, who was starring on the hit teen drama The O.C. at the time, purchased an eight-bedroom mansion in Beverly Hills that year that she is now desperately trying to save from going into foreclosure, according to a new report by TMZ. Mischa reportedly owes over $100,000 in unpaid mortgage payments and recently received a default notice on her home.
The actress has worked steadily since The O.C. went off the air in 2007 but has failed to land any major roles in the past seven years. According to TMZ, she has been trying to sell the giant 1.2 acre home for years.

"Mischa's been trying to unload the house since 2010 ... when she listed it for $8.695 million, but no one bought it. She re-listed in 2011, and again ... no takers," the site reported. "Her last ditch effort was attempting to lease it for $35K/month last year ... but that move appears to be way too little too late."
In a 2008 interview with OK! magazine, Mischa talked about her Spanish-style villa, which has 11 bathrooms and three guesthouses.
"Having a comfortable home means a place to just let go, to completely relax, to feel safe," she told the magazine. ""When I arrived in LA, I looked at 10 houses. This was the last one on the list. It was a little beyond my price expectations, but I immediately fell in love with it. It's almost as if I would be living in the country. There's no traffic, no loud cars, simply heavenly quiet,"
Mischa will next star in the movie Throwdown, a thriller that's set to be released in October. In March, she announced on her Twitter that she planned to release a line of jewelry, but has yet to provide any additional details. The actress already has her own line of Mischa handbags.
