Justin Bieber's Miami DUI Drama Is Over! Singer Avoids Jail Time But Will Undergo Anger Management Classes

By Adam Miller On August 13, 2014

After a whole string of unfortunate events for Justin Bieber in 2014 we almost forgot about his DUI charge after the pop star was arrested for his drag racing incident earlier this year. But now the charges have been dropped as the singer has agreed to undergo an anger management course as part of his plea deal.

The star's lawyers accepted a guilty plea on behalf of the troubled singer who has faced a series of mishaps with the police in recent months. Justin pleaded to resist arrest without violence with the judge ordering the chart-topper to attend 12-hour long anger management sessions in a series of private classes and complete a 'You Impact' program.

The program will see Justin attend meetings with those who have been turned upside down through drunk driving as a means to bring the affects of his actions home.

He will also pay a $500 fine and make a $50,000 charitable donation to 'Our Kids,' supporting the victims of human trafficking. The DUI case was also reduced to "careless driving" rather than under the influence.

Back in January, Justin was arrested when police clocked the singer racing his rented Lamborghini and a Ferrari driven by close friend and R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff at dangerously high speeds in Miami Beach, smelling of alcohol and appearing glassy eyed.

Alcohol breathe tests later showed Justin's alcohol levels to be below the legal limit for underage drivers but later urine tests highlighted the presence of marijuana and Xanax in his system. He was also charged with driving with an expired license and resisting arrest.

Miami-Dade State Attorney, Katherine Fernandez Rundle who handled the case explained the sentence was a means to prevent Justin's juvenile behavior spiraling out of control before any serious accident could occur. She continued that the intervention and classes have been put in place for the megastar to wakeup and become an adult. His lawyers insisted their client would learn from the errors of his ways.

But the legal dramas for the 20-year-old aren't quite over yet as the Baby hitmaker is also charged with assaulting a limousine driver last year while a Miami photographer is also claiming Justin assaulted him while taking snaps of the star outside a recording studio.

Last month he agreed to pay $80,000 in damages after pleading no contest to a vandalism charge which saw the Biebs hurling eggs at a neighbour's house in Calabasas.
