Zoe and Britney starred together in the 2002 film Crossroads...
Zoe Saldana hasn't spoken to her Crossroads co-star Britney Spears in years, but the actress was quick to defend Brit when she was asked about the singer's recent auto-tune controversy. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, Zoe spoke up for her former friend, who was slammed by critics after a not-so-great version of her song Alien was released sans its auto-tune track.
Zoe, who called the release of the track "mean," said the incident did not change how she felt about Brit.

"I have a huge amount of respect for Britney Spears," the Guardians of the Galaxy star said. "I'm pretty sure that 80 percent of our musical artists would be mortified if they were caught singing without auto-tune."
Zoe, who is currently pregnant, went on to reminisce about how well Britney, who was already a major pop star by the time Crossroads was made in 2002, treated her on set.
"She was the one big, big celebrity that I met when I was starting to work in Hollywood who was humble, and whatever was going on in her mind or in her world, it was never about hating her neighbor," she said, adding that other celebrities frequently bashed Britney to further their own careers.

"I can name a lot of prominent figures right now that today are more famous than Britney that literally got to where they're at by hating on Britney a lot," Zoe said. "Because it was cool at one time to really just diss her. And Britney never did that. I do believe that people and children gravitate to good energy, and she's definitely an abundance of that."
In 2013, Zoe told Allure magazine about the good time she and Britney, along with fellow co-star Taryn Manning, had on the film's set.
"We were young, too, and got to make a movie about three friends on a road trip," Zoe said. "It was so much fun!"
