The Duchess of Cambridge might look like a demure royal, but put a bat in her hand and it's a different matter as the ultra competitive Kate Middleton got stuck into a cricket session during the royal tour of New Zealand despite rocking high heels.
Both Kate and Prince William had a go on the bat as they attended a Crick World Cup 2015 event in Christchurch and the concentration on their faces is pretty hilarious. Usually there is never a bad picture of the Duchess taken but we think we might have found one as she appears to be gurning as the ball approaches the wicket.
It could be the constrictive nature of her outfit though. Kate was wearing an eye-catching red Luisa Spagnoli skirt suit and black heels for the game, which may have made it hard for her to put in a good enough swing.
Next up was Prince William who looked as equally as determined as he took his place at the wicket. The couple have been in New Zealand for a week now and so far it appears have been having a great time.
They even got to hold the Cricket world cup trophy after their game, which the Duchess apparently confessed she was a little nervous about.

Debbie Hockley, a former New Zealand batswoman admitted Kate wasn't to comfortable at the stumps: "I told her don't worry about technique just smash it. She was quite nervous but she kept her eye on the ball.
"I thought they were great sports to take part in it."
Debbie comended Kate for having a go, especially in her 3 inch shoes: "I couldn't bat in high heels. She's not played before so it's a pretty good effort and she did the best she could."
Chief Executive of the New Zealand cricket association Lee German praised the couple for their attitude during the event: "People involved in cricket have been looking forward to this day for a long time. Catherine and William were superb.
"The way they spoke to the children was fantastic," he added. "I talked to them about the cricket world cup and how it was important for us as a city to have a major world cup and we're in the process of building an English-style cricket ground."
