Snowbombing Festival 2014: British Man Dies After 'Complaining Of Chest Pains'

A British man has died while attending the 2014 Snowbombing Festival in Austria with police officials revealing he complained of chest pains before collapsing.

The unidentified 25-year-old from West Bromwich was in attendance at the dance music festival which kicked off on Monday at the Mayrhofen ski resort in the Zillertal valley, but is said to have felt unwell before collapsing at around 4pm local time and falling unconscious.

According to The Guardian, a police official said: "The man was treated by paramedics but lost consciousness and died."

A postmortem was expected to have been carried out on Tuesday. Organisers of the annual event which is in its 15th year, issues a statement saying: "We have offered every assistance and our thoughts are with the man's family. His next of kin are being contacted. We cannot comment further at this point."

The music event will see the likes of Chase & Status and Prodigy perform (Packshot)

Headliners for the event include The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Chase & Status, Rudimental and Groove Armada, who are slated to perform throughout the festival until it wraps up on April 12.
