He gave hope to so many women when George Clooney was a bachelor. But the star is now officially off the market when he married British lawyer Amal Alamuddin in Venice yesterday.
Unlike his pal Brad Pitt, who married Angelina Jolie without anyone knowing, George and Amal made a Hollywood style entrance when they arrived in Venice ahead of their nuptials along with their famous friends. But what actually happened during George and Amal's special day?
It is believed that George chose to wear Armani when he said his vows to Amal and according to the Mirror, Amal may have worn a Stella McCartney design when she was spotted at the airport in Italy with a clothes bag from the designer. Whilst the whole of Venice may have come to a standstill with the arrival of so many guests, E! Online reported that George and Amal said their 'I do's' in front of just 100 people. And it was all so romantic as the couple reportedly declared their love for each other whilst standing in front of white candles which adorned a white wall. White flowers were also used to decorate the area.
But who saw George and Amal become husband and wife? The guest list was definitely star-studded as the likes of Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford, Emily Blunt, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Bono were spotted at the ceremony which was held at the Aman Canal Grande hotel. According to the Mail Online, the guests were treated to "champagne and canapes including polenta with wild mushrooms and prosciutto ham with figs", after the ceremony ended. Sounds yummy!

And the wedding celebrations look et to continue today as the Mail Online went on to allege that the newlyweds are going to celebrate their marriage with a lunch.
Just in case, anyone is still in denial that George is now off the market, George's rep confirmed yesterday that he had got married. They said: "George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were married today in a private ceremony in Venice, Italy."
