But Derulo has brushed off criticisim from the "haters" in a cryptic tweet, which hints that the singer is focusing on his glittering career rather than dwelling in the past.
Without any caption, the crooner posted a shot of Leonardo Dicaprio in the Great Gatsby with the text: "Cheers to my haters. Be patient, so much more is coming…" But what could he possibly mean? Could there be anew album on the way, filled with soppy breakup ballads?
His former flame has certainly been channeling her heart ache into new music. She prompted speculation that the couple had split, tweeting that she had just written: "the saddest song of my life," while over the weekend she posted: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." But in a radio interview with KDWB, Jason assured that "everything is cool" between the pair, insisting that "it's not a bad situation, it's not one of those kinds of things". Sounds like they're on very different pages!
Heartthrob Jason made his first public appearance since we all found out about the split, performing with the University of Southern California Marching Band at the Los Angeles Coliseum. According to onlookers, he seemed to be in high spirits the day after confirming his breakup, with a witness telling E! News: "He looked good. He was all smiles."

Reports suggested that pop's brightest couple called time on their relationship after spending weeks apart. On Spetember 14, Jordin, who has been unusually vocal about her heart ache on Twitter, wrote: "Football is the only thing making me smile today. I don't feel like doing anything except laying down & zoning out. #oneofthosedays," before Jason announced they had broken up last week.
Just last month, dressed in matching white outfits, Jason and Jordin stepped out together at the MTV Video Music Awards where the seized the opportunity to share a red carpet kiss and kept their hands all over each other.
