She's Not So Scary! Angelina Jolie Holds Hands With Elle Fanning As Maleficent Promo Kicks Off In Paris
May 6th 2014, 13:45

Angelina Jolie may play a terrifying villain in her new movie Maleficent but at the first photo call for her film in Paris today, the actress was altogether a lot more friendly.

The actress stars in Disney's hugely anticipated live-action spin off from the Sleeping Beauty  fairytale, telling the story of the villain Maleficent.

Elle Fanning plays Princess Aurora in the epic, with both stars stepping out in Paris today to promote the film.

Angelina and Elle sweetly held hands as they posed for photographs, and while Angelina stuck to a villain's colour of choice - her signature black- she was looking gorgeous in her elegant top and trouser combo.

Elle meanwhile looked stunning in an army green mini dress with her platinum blonde waves left loose around her shoulders.

While Angelina and Elle kicked off their hectic promo tour for the movie, which will bring them to London at the end of the week, there was no sign of the the other star of the film.

Angelina and Brad Pitt's adorable daughter Vivienne plays the young Princess Aurora in the film, with stills from the movie showing that the little girl has already inherited her mum's trademark pout.

Angelina has revealed Viv was almost the only child they could use to play Aurora because Jolie was so frightening in her costume. "The other three and four-year-old [actors] wouldn't come near me. Big kids thought I was cool- but little kids didn't like me", the actress told Entertainment Weekly. "So in order to have a child that wants to play...it had to be a child that liked me and wasn't afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv."
