They have a big 'bromance' on Britain's Got Talent.

But David Walliams has admitted that he found his fellow judge Simon Cowell 'quite insufferable' while filming the auditions stage of the ITV show after the music mogul had got his partner Lauren Silverman pregnant with their son Eric, who was born in February.

He joked to the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'While we were doing the auditions, he was being very cocky because he got a woman pregnant and was quite insufferable.'

The 42-year-old comedian spent his debut season on BGT poking fun at Simon and jokingly pretending to fancy him.

And David insists his comical nature on the show left Simon wanting to be just as funny in the latest series after watching it back, which the Little Britain star said made it 'stressful' on occasions.

Speaking to the newspaper, he quipped: 'He needs to compete with me in the comedy stakes too. It was stressful at times.'

David has made several quips about Simon on the latest series, including one during the recent week of live shows when he made a joke about his three-month-old son Eric.

Simon showed his dislike for entertainer Ricky K's audition, saying that the script wasn't as funny enough for the semi-finals - but did so before the punchline, which featured the wannabe bringing out a doll called Eric.

Following the audition, David quickly joked: 'He even buzzes his own son.'

Simon then realised his error and apologised, before banging his head on the desk and admitting he felt 'guilty'.

However, David's jokes haven't always gone down well with Simon as he admitted at the start of the latest BGT series that he started jokingly asking Simon if he wanted to impregnate every single woman who took to the stage to audition.

But he soon put a stop to it when he looked over at Simon after the third time of doing it and saw the X Factor boss 'shaking his head'.
