He's filming one of Roald Dahl's most beloved children's stories.

And James Corden certainly seemed to be having fun on the set of a new BBC adaptation of the classic tortoise story Esio Trot.

The TV comic, 35, was seen filming the TV series in London's Primrose Hill on Sunday.

He was spotted filming scenes at a pet shop alongside the show's creator Richard Curtis.

It is unknown what role James will play in the series, which co-stars Judi Dench as Ms. Silver and Dustin Hoffman as Mr. Hoppy.

The story, directed by Dearbhla Walsh, follows Mr Hoppy, a retired bachelor who has a secret love for his neighbour Mrs Silver.

But with her pet tortoise Alfie taking up all her attention, shy Mr Hoppy's attempts to talk to Mrs Silver usually end in disaster.

He devises a plot to win her affections, after he learns of her wish for Alfie to be bigger.

The series was announced at the Edinburgh International Television Festival in August, with producer Hilary Bevan Jones saying: 'To bring together two of the world's favourite actors in Dame Judi and Dustin is a dream come true.
