Game Of Thrones: Who Gives Shocking Testimony At Tyrion's Trial To Get Revenge?
May 12th 2014, 07:31

Last night US fans of Game Of Thrones got to see the latest instalment, which sees Tyrion Lannister tried for the murder of his nephew, King Joffrey, with his former lover Shae taking her revenge.

Witnesses are lined up to give their testimony against the Imp, with his own sister, Cersei, giving a particularly damning testimony as well as Lord Varys, who has been noticeably absent in recent episodes.

Tyrion Lannister is on trial for the murder of his nephew, King Joffrey (HBO)

The only champion in Tyrion's corner is his brother Jaime, who tries to use the reasoning that Tywin should allow Tyrion to live while he promises to continue the Lannister lineage and leave the King's guard and find a wife. They agree that Jaime will marry and take Casterly Rock while Tyrion will be sent to join the Night's Watch.

That is until Tyrion's spurned ex-lover, Shae, takes to the witness stand and turns against him. She tells lies and betrays both Sansa and Tyrion saying that the husband and wife plotted to kill Joffrey and this causes Tyrion to rage.

"I did not do it. I did not kill Joffrey but I wish that I had. Watching your vicious bastard die gave me more relief than a thousand lying whores," he said.

"I wish I was the monster you think I am. I wish I had enough poison for the whole pack of you. I would gladly give my life to watch you all swallow it."

This then causes Tyrion to claim that he hasn't been on trial for the murder of the King but actually because he is a dwarf, and says that because he can't get justice in the courtroom (and never expected to), he wants a trial by combat. Again.

Meanwhile, elsewhere Davos is on the hunt for money to pay for soldiers from the Iron Bank he then acquires Salladhor Saan for Stannis. Danaerys is ruling over Meereen and sees how her actions in the name of "justice" have caused pain.

Yara Greyjoy and her crew then try to rescue her brother Theon, who is being held captive by Ramsay Snow. But Theon won't leave with them, saying that he's actually Reek. After a fight breaks out with Ramsay, the man behind Theon's brutal and sadistic torture, Yara leaves, believing that her brother is dead. Theon is then given a warm bath by Ramsay and he asks a favour. Can Reek then pretend to be Theon Greyjoy?
