The Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder has paid tribute to all mothers on the US Mother's Day today (May 11) and sent a special message to the mothers of the African girls who have been kidnapped.
Ian, who is currently in Brussel on a trip for his foundation, tweeted earlier today: "Wishing every mother the knowing that she is not only loved by her children but by all of humanity. Cherish your Mom;) Happy Mothers Day!"

The actor has joined the campaign, of #bringbackourgirls, along with Michelle Obama, Britain's prime minister David Cameron, Anne Hathaway, Kimberley Stewart and Alexa Chung who have all used their position to highlight the campaign to bring attention to the Nigerian schoolgirls.
