He apologised for trying to meet up with a 17-year-old girl after chatting to her on Instagram.
But James Franco wasn't doing much to shed his new slightly creepy reputation on Friday.
The actor shared some rather hilarious photos of himself shirtless in bed, again using the popular social networking site.

Bedroom eyes: James Franco shared some shirtless photos from bed on Instagram on Friday
The first snapshot was a close-up of James' sleepy face as he rested on a white pillow in a yellow bedroom, clearly not wearing a top.
'GOOD MORNING - ARE YOU OUT THERE, baby?' the 35-year-old wrote alongside the image.
James quickly followed it up with another selfie, in which he revealed more of his bare torso as he relaxed under crisp cotton sheets.
'BREAKFAST IN BED. MISSED YOU,' the 127 Hours star captioned the photo, in which a wooden tray was just visible.
The previous day James attended the opening of his art gallery in Chelsea, New York, where a line of teenage girls that weaved around the block apparently greeted him.
Sleepy: The actor said he was enjoying breakfast in bed in the smouldering snapshots
But the actor only chatted to the young pretty strawberry blonde who was waiting to greet him, believed to be his assistant Dana Morgan.
No doubt he has been warned to behave himself following the outcry over his flirtation with a young Scottish girl, who he met when she waited outside the stage door following his Broadway performance in Of Mice And Men.
After confusion over whether a leaked Instagram conversation between him and Lucy Clode was real or fake, James admitted he did try to pick up the Scottish schoolgirl via the picture sharing site and said he had shown 'bad judgment'.
After she shared a photo on Instagram a 'flirty' exchange of messages followed, in which he asked her age, if she had a boyfriend and if he should 'rent a room'.
On his best behaviour: James ignored a line of teenage girls at the opening of his art gallery in Chelsea, New York on Thursday
The teenager shared screengrabs, which included two pictures Franco sent of himself to verify she was not speaking with an imposter.
'I'm embarrassed and I guess I'm just a model of how social media is tricky,' the actor said on Live With Kelly And Michael, debunking theories that the exchange had been either an April Fool's Day prank or part of a viral campaign for his latest film.
James did not address the fact that the object of his internet affection was half his age, but he was the one to bring up the incident and said that he did not expect the conversation to be shared.
'It's the way that people meet each other today, but what I've learned- I guess because I'm new to it - is you don't know who's on the other end,' he said.
'You get a feel for them, you don't know who you're talking to. I used bad judgement and I learned my lesson.'
