The Duchess of Cambridge continued to wow with her royal tour wardrobe at a State Dinner last night in Wellington held at Government House by the Governor-General Sir Jerry Mateparae, where she chose a slinky black dress with silver fern detail on the shoulder, which is the national symbol of New Zealand.
Kate looked radiant in the black mid-length number with long sleeves and a high neckline as she joined her husband at the reception, where they also unveiled a new portrait by artist Nick Cuthell. Prince William said a few words during the night, thanking the country for their warm hospitality since arriving on Monday morning, the Duke even attempted a few words in the native Maori language.

Praising its country for its beautiful landscape, William said: "New Zealand is very special to me personally," going on to add that the people had always been "affectionate," towards his grandmother the Queen.

Earlier in the day Kate and William had chatted to crowds in Blenheim where they attended a wreath laying ceremony at the war memorial before embarking on a walkaround. It's estimated 5,000 people turned out to greet the couple, with some arriving as early as 4:30am.
Absent from Thursday's events was Prince George. He joined his parents at a royal playdate at Government House on Wednesday morning where he played with 10 other children who had been specially selected for the event.
