Johnny appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier today (April 11) and the talkshow host was quick to ask Depp about the recent milestone in his life.
"I think when you're younger, 50 sounds old, and...you have this image of yourself," DeGeneres told the star. "But don't you think you're just getting better and better?"
"Well, calmer. You know, more calm," Johnny then replied, adding: "Less...well, not less weirdness, but less rage, maybe."
"Far less drama," he then said. "It feels good."
"You definitely feel you've earned your stripes and you're a little bit wiser, having been predominantly ignorant for the majority of your life."

Depp's rep recently denied rumours that he and Amber were expecting a baby and Ellen also asked the Hollywood hunk on what kind of a father he is, with Johnny already having two children - Jack and Lily-Rose - with ex girlfriend Vanessa Paradis.
When quizzed on whether he was a strict dad, Johnny said: "For all the right things, sure."
"I think it's important to allow your kids to make their own decisions and experience the sort of repercussions of what might happen," he explained. "I wouldn't say I was a very strict, strict dad."
