'We Think About Him Every Day': The Hunger Games Cast Pay Tribute To Philip Seymour Hoffman At MTV Movie Awards
Apr 14th 2014, 11:31

Philip Seymour Hoffman was very much on the minds of The Hunger Games cast as they triumphed at last night's MTV Movie Awards, with Josh Hutcherson paying tribute to his late co-star in his acceptance speech.

Hoffman had just seven days of filming left on the final film in the smash hit Hunger Games franchise before he died in February.

As The Hunger Games: Catching Fire took home the biggest prizes of the night at the awards in Los Angeles, the cast remembered their co-star and his memorable performance as Plutarch Heavensbee.

Catching Fire was named best film while its star Jennifer Lawrence received the best female prize and Josh Hutcherson best male.

Hutcherson, who is currently shooting the final scenes of the last movie with JLaw and co, told the audience as he collected his prize: "If Philip were here he would think this was really cool.

"To have him in our movie was one of the coolest things. We think about him every day on set. This definitely goes out to him as well."

Fast & Furious star Paul Walker was also remembered at last night's ceremony with the late actor's co-star Jordana Brewster taking to the stage to give an emotional speech about her friend who died last November in a car crash.

"This past November, tragedy struck when Paul Walker's life shockingly ended. The immense outpouring of grief around the world was a reflection of the kind of man Paul was," Jordana said.

"He was so, so special. I was lucky enough to work with him over the last 15 years and witness the generosity of his heart every day I was with him. He was humble, he thought about others. Whether you knew Paul for five minutes or a close friend, he made you feel like the most important person in the world."
