Rio 2's Anne Hathaway Wanted For Music Career By will.i.am: 'I Can't Beat Fergie!'
Apr 11th 2014, 12:40

will.i.am has seemingly confirmed earlier rumours suggesting that he's trying to get Anne Hathaway into the studio to record music.

The pair both sing on the new animated movie Rio 2, and Hathaway's pipes have made The Voice UK coach keen to work with her away from the context of a movie.

"I want to make music with you!" he told her while the pair wee on air with Ryan Seacrest.

"From Rio, I was like, 'She sings like that?!'. It would be so amazing to do music outside of an animated film. That would be freaking dope."

Hathaway modestly responded: "I am blushing so hard right now.

"The thing is, he's going to get me in the studio and then he's going to hear me for real, and he's going to be like, 'Oh, never mind'."

Referring to will's Black Eyed Peas bandmate, she added: "[I mean] he works with Fergie! That's like his 9am meeting. I can't beat that!"

Hathaway became an unlikely chart star when her performance of 'I Dreamed A Dream' in the film version of Les Miserables scaled the charts, and she also sang on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this week.

Rio 2 has been collecting middling reviews since its release, and is out in the UK now.
