Kerry Washington gave everyone a pleasant wake-up call when she arrived at Good Morning America earlier today to promote the anticipated new season of Scandal, with the actress strutting along looking gorgeous in a cobalt blue dress.
Arriving to a throng of fans who gathered outside of the New York City studios, Kerry, 37, looked every inch a chic beauty in a peplum blue dress which she teamed with a pair of black heels. The actress seemed more than happy to greet the crowds outside, posing for photos and giving cheerful waves to her adoring fans.
Kerry is in the Big Apple to carry out promotional duties for the fourth season of the hit AMC show and also her new fashion line which is inspired by her Scandal wardrobe, which returns to TV screens in the US on Thursday, and will see her reprise her popular role as Olivia Pope who is locked in a dangerous affair with the President and various other controversies.
The actress went back to filming not long after the birth of her daughter Isabelle whom she shares with husband Nnamdi Asomugha, and Kerry says she's taken inspiration from two women in particular when it comes to juggling family life with her busy career.

"My mother was a working mom and she has been a brilliant mother and a brilliant career woman, so she's been a great role model for me," Kerry told E! News. "And [show creator] Shonda Rhimes is an awesome role model. She's got three kids and three shows, so I got nothing to complain about!"
Thursday has been dubbed Shonda Rhimes Day as the producer and director has secured all three major slots that evening with her other two shows, Grey's Anatomy and How To Catch A Murderer also premiering seasons that evening.
