'It's Lovely!' Rosamund Pike Gushes Over Gone Girl Oscar Buzz
Sep 23rd 2014, 13:30, by Rebecca Merriman and Alicia Adejobi

Rosamund Pike has won over critics with her performance in David Fincher's anticipated screen adaptation of best-selling novel, Gone Girl, and some have even gone as far as to tip her for Oscar glory, but the actress is remaining modest in the midst of the acclaim.

The big screen version of Gillian Flynn's gripping thriller debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last week and a huge buzz was created around Rosamund's performance as Amy. With speculation now circulating that Rosamund is a frontrunner for an Oscar nomination in 2015, surely her ego is through the roof? Well, not exactly…

Speaking to EntertainmentWise at the premiere of her new movie What We Did On Our Holiday in London last night about the Oscar chatter, Rosamund admitted that while it is nice, she's not getting her hopes up. "I've been completely protected from that, I don't know what to say but I think people are always looking for news and something to say and I'm sure next week it will be somebody else so that's generally what I think. It's lovely but I think we're in this giddy merry-go-round and I'm the next one on," Rosamund told us.

Gone Girl sees Rosamund starring alongside Ben Affleck and Neil Patrick Harris, playing Amy, who goes missing on her fifth wedding anniversary resulting in her husband, Nick, accused of her suspected murder.

With a new movie to promote at the moment and Gone Girl set to premiere next month, Rosamund certainly has a busy schedule to contend with, especially given the fact that she's pregnant with her second child. So just how is Rosamund coping with the pregnancy and travelling around? "I'm trying to enjoy every moment, I mean I'm flying to New York at 6.30 tomorrow morning but at the moment I'm trying to just think I'm here, I'm enjoying this and Gone Girl can wait till tomorrow," Rosamund told us.

What We Did On Our Holiday is released on September 26 while Gone Girl will hit screens around the world on October 3. We can't wait!
