When the magazine asked about Hamm's 1996 dating show appearance, he admitted that the awkward, now-viral clip was filmed during a very dark period in his life.
"I was actually at that time working as a set-dresser for Cinemax soft-core-porn movies," Jon admitted, adding that he found the experience "soul-crushing."
Aside from scandalous rumors that Hamm is dating co-star Elisabeth Moss (which he continues to vehemently deny), things are now looking much, much better for man who gave the world Don Draper.
"This is the best job I've ever had and maybe ever will have in my life," said Hamm of his Mad Men role. "It can be relentlessly dark. It can be terrible sexually inappropriate, is a way to say it. But who else gets to do any of that stuff?
Well, if anyone knows about sexual inappropriateness, it's Hamm. Of course, these days he's the one doing the groping. Now that's progress!
