Wright, Joseph, Feiffer plays set for Atlantic Co.
May 28th 2014, 19:05, by MARK KENNEDY

NEW YORK (AP) — World premiere plays by Doug Wright, Rajiv Joseph and Halley Feiffer, as well as a pair of David Mamet revivals, are the highlights of the Atlantic Theater Company's upcoming season.

The respected off-Broadway company unveiled its slate of 2014-15 offerings Wednesday, which also includes the American premiere of Moira Buffini's "Dying For It" and a pair of musicals for children, including one co-written by Grammy Award-nominee Lisa Loeb.

The Atlantic's season kicks off in September with the previously announced "Found," a show built around discarded notes and other ephemera that litter the streets. It features a book by Hunter Bell and Lee Overtree, and music and original lyrics by Eli Bolin.

"Dying For It," an adaptation of "The Suicide" by Nikolai Erdman, opens in January and then comes three world premieres by spring: Feiffer's "I'm Gonna Pray For You So Hard," about an actress and her stage director father spending a boozy night talking; Wright's "Posterity," in which a sculptor tries to create a likeness of an irascible Henrik Ibsen, and Joseph's "Guards at the Taj," set in 1648 India.

There's also a bill of one-act plays by Atlantic co-founder Mamet that includes his "Prairie du Chien," that includes a grisly story about jealousy and murder, and "The Shawl," about a phony psychic.

The season also includes two offerings for kids: "Ivy & Bean, the Musical" with music and lyrics by Scott Elmegreen, and "Camp Kappawanna," with music and lyrics by Loeb, Michelle Lewis and Dan Petty.
