Eurovision Song Contest 2014: Semi-Final 1 Front-Runners
May 6th 2014, 18:41

Tonight the first sixteen countries on the Eurovision slate will perform for a spot in this weekend's final, in the first semi.

It's exciting stuff, and as ever UK viewers can catch all the action on BBC Three, safe in the knowledge that our very own Molly has a free-pass to the weekend's festivities.

The line-up tonight is crowded, but let's examine the five songs that have caught the most love from the bookies in the run-up to the showdown.

5. Azerbaijan
Dilara Kazimova has accrused 1.4 million YouTube views for the music video to her tune 'Start A Fire', and she's in fifth spot on the bookies' leaderboard with 6/1 odds of winning, according to PaddyPower. It's a pretty piano-led ballad, and she sings it well... but it doesn't feel like it has enough go-power to go the distance. What do you think?

4. Ukraine
It's a little politically uncomfortable tonight, with Russia and Ukraine facing off in the same heat - but it's the latter who is tipped to come out on top, if either. Maria Yaremchuk is flying the flag with 'Tick-Tock', which comes complete with hand-claps AND whistles. SportingBet rate her at 11/2 to win.

3. Hungary
Hungary are picking up a lot of support as potential winners of the whole thing, so it's easy to see why their odds are at just 4/1 with the likes of SkyBet. Kallay-Saunders is the singer, 'Running' is the song, and the drum-and-bass chorus ensures it a crossover audience.

2. Sweden
Sanna Nielsen has tried SIX TIMES to represent her nation at Eurovision and this time she's finally done it. She has 9/4 odds of scooping tonight's top spot with ballad 'Undo' - and you'd be a fool to bet against the Swedes in a game of pop. Plus - does this sound a bit 'Wrecking Ball'-like to you?

1. Armenia
The host of the Armenian version of The X Factor (!!!) is the favourite to win tonight - and it's Aram MP3. 'Not Alone' is the song - do you rate its chances? With 2/1 odds, many clearly do...
