The first trailer for David Fincher's Gone Girl has arrived and it may be one of the best trailers for a movie we've seen all year.
Based on Gillian Flynn's wildly successful 2012 novel, Ben Affleck stars as Nick Dunne, who becomes the main suspect when his wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) mysteriously goes missing on the day of their fifth wedding anniversary. Here's the best bits of the trailer.
The music
Sorry Notting Hill but classic love song 'She' has been used to amazing effect in the trailer. Richard Butler from Psychedelic Furs' take on the tune and adds a whole extra layer of eeriness to the teaser. You'll never be able to hear the song in the same way again.
Ben's creepy smile
The story hinges on the enigma surrounding Nick and whether he did actually commit murder. With Ben showing off his creepy smile during the press conference scene, it looks like the actor will have everyone guessing with his performance.
The crime scene
For fans of Flynns' book the trailer gives some tantalising glimpses at some of the key moments in the book including when Nick discovers the crime scene in his house and his wife missing.
A new ending?
Fincher has worked with Flynn to create an entirely new ending for the big-screen version, which is possibly hinted at in a brief scene during the trailer, could Amy really meet a watery end?
Ben getting all uppity
The trailer ends with Nick declaring "I did not kill my wife. I am not a murderer", but is he telling the truth?
