'So Annoyed': I Can't Sing Stars React To News That Musical Will Close In Two Weeks

The stage musical's performers are left heartbroken by the shock end to the production

Cast members from the X Factor musical I Can't Sing have voiced their disappointment as it's announced the production will close in just two weeks due to poor ticket sales.

It was confirmed over the weekend that Simon Cowell's West End musical I Can't Sing has been axed after just six weeks after its opening. The Harry Hill written musical may have received mostly positive reviews but it has reportedly been playing to half empty theatres on most nights.

Customers have bought tickets up until the end of 2014, but they are now being told to seek refunds because the show is going to be closing its doors on May 10th.

Stars of the show have spoken out on the decision to close, with Cynthia Erivo, who plays Chenice tweeting: "I'm so annoyed right now so annoyed!!"

The stage actress has received a huge amount of messages on her timeline which seem to have helped in some way as she tweeted on Monday morning: "Morning all!! Chins up, dust off, smiles on! Keep moving xxx"

Scott Garnham, who also appears in the production posted a video on Instagram entitled "Cast reaction to @icantsinguk" which sees the actor holding a bottle of champagne and telling the camera: "Five star reviews, we're gonna run and run and run this is fantastic!" His smile then fades as he adds: "Wait two weeks..."

Producer Rebecca Quigley, chief executive of Stage Entertainment UK, meanwhile said the team were sad but proud to have worked on the show.

"The West End can be an unpredictable place as the closure of a number of high profile productions recently has shown," she said.

"I Can't Sing! has had audiences on their feet night after night, four and five star reviews from the critics and an amazing company and creative team, but it seems that isn't always enough."
