'They Have Nothing To Lose': Justin Bieber Urged To Dump Friends To Save Career By Smokey Robinson
Apr 28th 2014, 15:03

Justin Bieber has been warned by veteran performer Smokey Robinson that he should ditch his bad boy friends after his recent spell of bad publicity pointing out that while they don't have anything to lose, he has a whole career riding on public opinion.

The star has been arrested twice this year and has been seen hitting clubs and partying with so-called bad influences and gaining a reputation as a bit of a bad boy, something Robinson claims won't help him in the long run.

He told People magazine at the 56th Annual Thalians Gala in Los Angeles: "I know Justin pretty good.

"But I would love to sit him in a room somewhere and talk with him for an hour just one on one."

The 74 year-old went on: "I would tell him that the guys that you're doing this stuff for, and in front of, and with, they have nothing to lose.

"He's not only living for himself anymore. He's too popular."

"So his image, and what he does, has influence on a lot of young people, so he needs to think about that," Robinson added.

Explaining how to ditch his bad boy crew he said: "He just divorces himself from that. That's what he does. He just divorces himself from that element and gets himself together."
