Jack Bauer and the CIA get closer to the president assassination plot...

If you thought last week's double episode of 24 was action-packed, then tonight would've been a real treat. Jack and Chloe are hot on the tail of Derek Yates and that pesky drone device, while Kate and Erik are following closely behind. But Yates is dead, and soon its his killer - Simone Al-Harazi (the fake blonde Russian) - they're chasing. Cue more shots of London, the tube and motorists driving on the left-hand -side of the road. Things. Just. Got. CRAZY.

Check out our top five moments below:

1. Things get really British.

Tracking the drone-hijacking device means going into the pub that the now-deceased Derek and his faux girlfriend Simone were hiding out in. It's a typical British pub - so no surprise when we see it's called 'The Vauxhall Griffin'. That's only a few letters away from The Queen Vic, right?! Anyway: Jack rushes in, only to be put on hold by the bartender: "I'll be with you in a minute mate," he mutters. No time! Bauer rushes into the toilets when a scan of the room reveal Yates isn't at the bar. He finds him dead next to the urinal, shouts "damn it!" in typical Jack style, and heads back to Chloe and the Volvo. It's now we realise something REALLY important...

...the word 'pub' sounds super weird when said in an American accent.

Chloe uses her hacking powers to access the CCTV around the 'pub' and tracks Simone to the Northern Line. They screech and skid their way to Waterloo station to catch the criminal at the next stop. At this point, if you're British, you're probably talking at the telly saying: "Ahh I've been there!" Yes, we all have. And now Jack Bauer has too. Throw in a few shots outside Charing Cross too and you've pretty much made any Brit's day.

Damn it! Jack Bauer just can't seem to stay on top of those pesky terrorists... (Sky)

2. Kate becomes more and more like Jack.

Back at the West Ealing flats, Kate and co. have lined up Basher (Tamer Hasan) and his druggy band of merry men to interrogate them on why Bauer is there. CIA head honcho Steve Maynard calls and tells them to release the men, so as not to cause more trouble on British soil, but Kate isn't having any of it. All the men are let go, except Basher. She clonks him on the back of her head with her gun, and forces fellow agent Erik Ritter to help her carry him to the car. She's going to find Jack - at any cost...

3. We find out more about what's been happening over the past four years.

Despite Chloe's quick-fire computer skills, she spaces out for a moment to stare at a happy family crossing the road near Charing Cross. She subsequently misses Simone leaving the station, and she and Bauer lose the trail. But there's something deeper, much sadder here... Chloe confesses to Jack that a lot happened while he was hiding, namely: her husband and son, Horace and Prescott, being killed in a hit and run. Not just that, it may not have been an accident after all. She thinks a lorry crashed into them on purpose in an attempt to take her out. Kind of explains the goth look at least.

4. Big bad Margot reveals her plans for the President... and London.

Having successfully shaken off the mysterious American (aka, Jack), Simone returns to her house in the country where mummy (Margot) is waiting. She hands over the device to her brother, who says it will take an hour to get it up and running. Margot also reveals that all the targets have been locked on: President Heller, Downing Street and Buckingham Palace, to name a few. Her motive? Why, Heller ordered the attack that killed her terrorist husband - obviously.

5. Jack infiltrates his first government building. Pandemonium ensues.

Jack's lost Simone. President Heller is at risk. He has to warn him about the threat, or at least find out more about the hijacked drone in Afghanistan from the suspect: Lieutenant Chris Tanner. He seeks help from Chloe's hacker boss, Adrian Cross, to get the credentials he needs to enter the US Embassy in London and speak to Tanner... but there's a problem. Adrian has double-crossed him (funny, given his name!) and his identification doesn't match up. When he reaches the gate security see something is wrong and go to arrest Jack. Ever resourceful, he creates a diversion by knocking out a police officer, stealing his gun, and shooting a couple of civilians in the knee caps through his jacket. Classic Jack.

24 is back next Wednesday, Sky 1, 9pm.
