Kasabian have given their thoughts on Metallica joining them as headliners for Glastonbury festival this year, revealing that Prince was probably the original target for the UK festival.
Last week after months of speculation Metallica were announced as part of the line-up, joining Kasabian and Arcade Fire as the headliners and not everyone has been convinced that the thrash metal band is the right choice.

Talking to MTV News UK, Kasabian guitarist said: "Obviously Prince was the move and I think everyone was prepared for Prince."
While frontman Tom Meighan added: "I think they ran out of time for Prince. It's quite a bold move Metallica – it's a monster. Metallica's huge."
The band are expecting "something quite amazing" from Metallica during their coveted slot on Saturday night.
"At this point if Prince can't do it, then there's no bigger rock zone in the world," Tom said. "The thing is no-one's really sure and usually that means something quite amazing will happen. Everyone was panicked about Jay Z and Beyoncé, but look what happened."
While Serge added: "These boys, they're clever man. They've been doing it a long time and there's a reason why they are who they are. I'm sure they'll pull something out the bag."
Kasabian are set to release their fifth studio album 48:13 on June 9 ahead of their Glasto performance later that month.
