Forget fighting for her life in Divergent, Shailene Woodley takes on an altogether different role in new movie The Fault in Our Stars, playing a teenage cancer sufferer.
Shailene had to shed the pounds, and chop off her hair, to play Hazel in the film based on John Green's bestselling novel, which also stars Ansel Elgort as her love interest Gus.
In a brand new clip from the heartwrenching drama Hazel and Gus sip champagne in an Amsterdam restaurant on their very first date.
After tasting the champers a friendly waiter explains the tipple is "like tasting the stars", which only fuels the young couple on to try more.
Playing Hazel has made Shailene reflect on her past with the young actress admitting that "it changed my whole life and put things in perspective. I realized I was good at being outwardly positive because that's how I am by nature. But internally? I was so mean to myself".

"Realising I needed to make a shift was a big moment for me. 'F--k you, insecurity. F--k you, lack of confidence!' When I finally realized I have to live life for myself and not for anyone else is when I started being more generous and kind and grateful," she explains. "I was able to give back more."
The Fault in Our Stars hits UK Cinemas in June.
