Britain's Got Talent Producers Concerned Over Pressure On 'Favourite' 79-Year Old Act Paddy?
Apr 16th 2014, 09:29

Following her amazing performance on the first episode of the new series of Britain's Got Talent, it has been claimed that the show's producers are keen to look after 79 year-old Paddy.

Having wowed with her energetic performance with dance partner Nico, BGT judge Amanda Holden didn't think twice about pressing her golden buzzer, giving Paddy and Nico a place in the final.

Wanting to make sure that Paddy is dealing with the reported "pressure" of her being a favourite to win the show, a source alleged to The Sun:

"They will work with her to make sure she deals with the pressure of being the early favourite. Despite her energetic performance, Paddy is still a 79 year old and so producers are sensitive to her needs."

A spokesperson for BGT has been approached for comment.

Meanwhile, Paddy defended her appearance on the show earlier this week, after it emerged that she had performed on and won a Spanish talent show.

Amid the reports that she won the Spanish talent show with 39 year-old Nico in 2009, the Mail Online reported Paddy insisting that her former victory should not have any effect on her time on BGT.

She said: "Surely other people do this as well and go in for all sorts of competitions. Nico and I haven't gone on to BGT with thoughts of gaining goodness knows what, we have gone into it for the pleasure of being able to dance and letting people see what we can do."
