Katy was snapped showing off those toned legs of hers in NYC yesterday, teaming her new green locks with a black leather jacket, a patterned dress and platform shoes and of course, those socks!

Taylor, on the other hand, opted to team her knee high socks with a blue shirt and some super short shorts and the legwear just seemed to elongate Swift's legs even more, with her pins looking never-ending in the outfit.

Katy and Taylor both have one thing in common, their love of socks aside, they both dated 36-year-old crooner Mayer.
Katy split from the singer earlier this year and despite the pair both staying quite quiet about the whole thing, the California Girl star pretty much confirmed that they had broken up on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this week.
Taylor Swift, on the other hand, caused chaos over the break-up, releasing Dear John and unveiling her feelings about the whole thing to the world.
Ouch! Wonder what Mayer thinks of their similarities in terms of fashion?
