Apr 24th 2014, 13:57

Beyonce features on the cover of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People 2014 list. In the year where she completed her Mrs Carter world tour, the star continues to dominate the world of music and beyond as so it's no surprise to see her on the cover.

The Drunk In Love singer, who surprised everyone when she released her fifth studio album Beyonce in December, without any fanfare or prior warning, looks icely out from the cover as she poses in a pair of white knickers and bra with a see-through shirt.

Praising the star, Sheryl Sanberg says in her article for Time: "Beyoncé doesn't just sit at the table. She builds a better one. Today she sits at the head of the boardroom table at Parkwood Entertainment."

She went on: "In the past year, Beyoncé has sold out the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour while being a full-time mother. Her secret: hard work, honesty and authenticity.

"And her answer to the question, What would you do if you weren't afraid? appears to be 'Watch me. I'm about to do it.' Then she adds, 'You can, too.'"

Other stars to make the list include Benedict Cumberbatch, who Colin Firth describes as "alarmingly talented," Seth Meyers and Kerry Washington. Oscar nominees Matthew McConaughey, Amy Adams and 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen were also named.

Perhaps controversially Miley Cyrus was one of the youngest stars to make the list.

Her dedication was written by godmother Dolly Parton who said of the Wrecking Ball's image: "If I didn't know how smart and talented Miley is, I might worry about her. But I've watched her grow up. So I don't. She knows what she's doing. She was very proud of the work she did as Hannah Montana, but people were gonna leave her there forever.

"And she was just smotherin' and chokin' in it. So she felt she had to do something completely drastic. And she did. She made her point, she made her mark, and more power to her."
