The Killers' Fourth V Festival Was The Best: Jimmy Carr, Igy Azalea And An Electric Performance

The Killers were in a seriously good mood tonight as the played their second Virgin Media V Festival headline set, throwing in an Iggy Azalea cover and special appearance from Jimmy Carr during their performance at Hylands Park.

Brandon Flowers and co had already headlined on Saturday at Weston Park in Staffordshire and changed up their set list for the second show, going straight in 'for the kill' with Somebody Told Me. The mega-hit from first record Hot Fuzz immediately got the crowd on side and from then on in, it was just a big love in thanks to the anthem filled set-list.

They repeated the cover of Iggy Azalea's track Fancy, which went down pretty well on Saturday and was equally as welcomed here, as well as Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl - another massive fan favourite. It's always good when a rock band tackles a song like this and with Flowers in a playful mood, it was clear the boys were having fun.

Strangest moment of the set? Jimmy Carr appearing on stage to rile up the crowd just before the encore of When You Were Young, asking if they wanted anymore Killers? Clearly they did and the American rockers came out for another blast at the crowd.

While they've not got any new material, the set list was packed with favourites and while they've previously been a bit hit and miss with live shows, after an intimate warm-up gig in Liverpool last week, they seemed confident and relaxed.

V Festival isn't the kind of gig that it would matter as much. The crowd seemed to just want to see a good show and that's what they got.

It's the second year in a row that V Festival have chosen a big, stadium rocker type band to headline. Last year it was Kings of Leon and this year, the Killers were just as good.
