It was denied earlier this week that Nina Dobrev, who formerly dated Ian Somerhalder, had struck up a romance with another Vampire Diaries co-star: Michael Trevino. But, even if it were true, it doesn't seem like Ian would mind - as he has allegedly kicked off his own new relationship.
It is reported by E! that the hunk was seen on a casual date night with former American Idol star Molly Swenson, with the pair spotted holding hands at one point.
They were said to be at the Details Magazine party in Santa Monica, followed by a visit to Treats! magazine's bash, honouring cover star Dylan Penn.

While obvious PDA was not forthcoming, an eyewitness has alleged that they were clearly a little infatuated with each-other.
"Ian got off the golf cart, and was wearing a leather jacket and his hair was tousled underneath a cap," they recalled.
"As he was walking towards the steps of Club James, he was greeted by two people from the event who introduced himself. They shook hands with Ian, smiled, and began ushering the group [Ian, Molly and two pals] inside."
The source added: "Two of Ian's friends were in front and Ian and his date were following closely behind casually holding hands. They seemed happy, casual, and enjoying the evening." How cute!
