Teresa Giudice: DEVASTATED By Prison Sentence! More Sorry Than Anyone Will Know!
Oct 3rd 2014, 15:32, by Free Britney

Teresa and Joe Giudice finally learned their fate yesterday in court, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey firebrand is not taking the outcome well.

After pleading guilty to bankruptcy fraud, prison sentences loomed, but the couple held out hope they might be let off with probation or house arrest.

No dice. Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in prison, while her husband Joe Giudice earned a 41-month sentence in the state penitentiary.

In a statement, Teresa said, "My daughters are my life."

"I'm more sorry than anyone will ever know. I will make this right no matter what ... I'm really scared ... I need to learn to do things for myself."

She concluded, "It's time for me to wake up."

Judge Esther Salas, who laid the smack down on both, apparently wasn't buying her pleas for mercy or that she has a clue what she did was wrong.

In turn, she issued a real wake up call alright, ordering Joe to pay $414,588.90 in restitution, and serve two more years of probation on top of his time.

Teresa will be jailed for 15 months beginning January 5, with Joe's sentence to begin after she gets out, so one parent can be with their daughters.

"For a moment I thought about probation ... but I think a period of confinement is absolutely necessary in this case," said the judge of her ruling.

"I don't honestly believe that you understand or respect the law. I need to send a message. In the eyes of the law it doesn't matter who you are.

"There are consequences to pay," Salas said, in summation.

It's hard to argue with the judge on that point, honestly.

Teresa at least got her wish that if they did do time, Joe's sentence would begin her release so that the girls could always remain with one parent.

Whether or not their marriage survives this is another story.

Many speculate that Teresa and Joe Giudice will divorce after all they've been through, with this being the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

She was reportedly told by Joe that he would take the fall, that he would protect her in the legal process, and yet he could not keep her out of prison.

We'll see if he can keep himself out of divorce court now.

As for the girls? Throughout their legal ordeal, the children have been their top concern, or so the felons have said in their failed attempts to win sympathy.

"Teresa tried to keep everything normal as possible for the family," said a source. "She tried not cry in front of her [girls], but she couldn't help but shed a few."

What do you think? Did they get what they deserve?

You can see them in an exclusive interview on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live Monday, and watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online as well.
