Bacall's death was confirmed by the Humphrey Bogart Estate via Facebook.

"With deep sorrow for the magnitude of our loss, yet with great gratitude for her amazing life, we confirm the passing of Lauren Bacall," read the online message posted this evening.

Bacall appeared in the Harper's Bazaar cover when she was 19 and was signed by Warner Bros. in 1943.

She appeared in a Hemingway novel adaption (To Have and Have Not) in 1944 and married Humphrey Bogart a year later.

She and the famous actor were parents to a son (Stephen) and a daughter (Leslie), though Bogat died in 1957.

Bacall admittedly had an affair with Frank Sinatra and also had a son with Jason Robards, her husband of 12 years.

At the age of 72, Bacall  was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for playing the mother of Barbra Streisand's character in The Mirror Has Two Faces.

In 2010, she received a Life Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Most recently, Bacall appeared on an episode of Family Guy as a friend of Peter's mom, named Evelyn.

The long-time star's passing comes on the heels of Robin Williams committing suicide
