The iconic role of Sally Bowles won Liza Minelli an Oscar in 1972, and more than 40 years on, Emma Stone is hoping to take on the character in it's theatrical reprise.
The 'Easy A' actress is in talks to make her Broadway debut, where she would play the lead role in the popular, gritty musical.

But this isn't the first time the 25-year-old has considered the role.
In April 2013, the actress was close to finalizing a deal with the show but scheduling conflicts with an upcoming film forced her to pass on the opportunity.

The critically acclaimed production is set in pre-war Berlin in the 1930s, and follows the story of an American novelist who falls in love with Sally Bowles, a singer at a seedy cabaret club.
The show debuted on Broadway in 1966 and was adapted into the 1972 film, which won eight Academy Awards as well as being nominated for Best Picture.
If Emma takes on the role she will replace Michelle Williams, who is leaving the production on November 9.
