Jun 6th 2014, 00:34, by Hilton Hater

One person is dead and three injured today as the result of a mass shooting at Seattle Pacific University in Washington.

According to local authorities, the incident took place around 3:30 p.m. local time in Otto Miller Hall, a building that houses the math, computer science, engineering, physics and science education departments.

Police say the unnamed suspect - who is in custody - entered the premises and opened fire, hitting four individuals before reloading his gun.

Staff members disarmed and subdued him at this time.

Police then arrived on the scene and took the shooter into custody.

Paramedics transported four victims to Harborview Medical Center, where a 20-year-old man died, hospital officials confirmed.

"Campus is in lockdown due to shooting near Otto Miller Hall. Classes are suspended. Please do not come to campus," the university posted on its website soon after the tragedy, later adding:

"Our heartfelt prayers are with the entire community."

Just two weeks ago, a young man named Elliot Rodger killed six people in Isla Vista near the University of California-Santa Barbara, taking deadly revenge against the women he believed rejected him and the men he believed they chose instead of him.
