Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge has admitted her favourite snap from the royal tour of New Zealand was the candid snap of her nuzzling Prince George at the informal playdate, their first engagement of the tour.
The prince was quite a hit at the playdate where he met ten other babies of a similar age and while it gave the world the first shots of the future king crawling about, it was also produced the touching mother, son moment where the nine month old cuddled up the Kate.
Wellington City councillor and professional photographer Simon Woolf took the now world famous picture and revealed to Hello magazine that the Duchess had later admitted it was her favourite.

Presenting the couple with a black and white version of the image as they left New Zealand Woolf revealed: "She said it was just lovely and that it was her favourite photo of the tour,"
Admitting he had wanted to take more of the little prince, added: "There was a bit of a plan for a [staged] family photo,"
"But it fell to pieces because they allowed George to sleep for an extra half-hour."
Probably a wise decision! The Duke and Duchess have now returned to the UK following the tour and it seems their charm offensive with little George worked as royal fever has swept across New Zealand and Australia following the visit.
Recalling his impression of William and Kate, Simon said the future king was "a class act" while Kate "is every bit as wonderful as he is and she has such a wonderful heart."
